the last 2 weeks.

Well, again, sorry it has been a while. Nothing huge has happened still, but I am still really enjoying myself.

Last weekend Mom and Dad came from Thursday to Monday. We really had a ton of fun. I gave them the whole tour of Monterrey, and we jam-packed pretty much everything I have done in a month and a half into 3 days. So in other words, we had a great time and were completely exhausted. When they got here on Thursday, I was able to get a ride to the airport to pick them up, so that was really great. When we got back to our house, I gave them the tour, and then we went to get tacos with my room mates. Friday, the weather was quite disappointing; rainy and cloudy. We stuck around the house; went to Starbucks, walked to campus, gave them the tour, went to get tea, dinner, etc. Saturday was our big day. We did almost everything I have done since I have been here in this day. We went to the history museum, walked along our man-made river, went to el centro and the macroplaza, where they have all the statues and fountains, and then later at night we went to the mirador, which is a big hill with the mexican flag on it, and you can see the whole city. It is really beautiful. Later we went to Chili's for a drink and appetizers, and then went back to the hotel. It was a really good day. Sunday we decided to go to a natural park to do some hiking. This park, Chipinque, was also a first for me, so it was really fun. It was also a really good place to see the whole city. So needless to say, after this weekend everyone was exhausted, but Mom and Dad didn't want to leave. I also had a really good time, and it was really weird saying goodbye, knowing I won't see them for 3 more months.

Since then, nothing too exciting has been happening. I have had a lot of homework this week. Wednesday we went to a bar to see my roomie's boyfriend and their band play. It was really fun, and they were really good. Last night (Friday) we didn't do anything. 2 of my room mates and I just stayed in and hung out and stayed in. It was fun, but we went to bed early.

Today will be my day of homework. I doubt I will get as much done as I plan on. The weather is probably really nice again (yesterday was 100 F), so I will probably make better plans. :) Oh well, I'm in Mexico.

booooring.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately...to tell you the truth, my life has temporarily become kind of low key. Which is fine..

Last week we had our first exams here, so the whole week was spent studying and doing homework. I had 3 tests, a quiz, and a paper due, so it was a pretty busy week, but meant I couldn't really do much, socially speaking. But whatever...it's one week out of the month, not too bad. So I think my tests went pretty well, but I guess we will see. This weekend I went out both nights, slept a lot, and didn't do a lot AT ALL! It was a fun weekend, but at the same time really exhausting, and the days were unproductive and kind of boring.

The parents are coming on Thursday, so I am getting really excited. My room mates and I are also starting to plan our trip to Mazatlan for spring break. We are really looking forward to spending a whole week on the beach. It should be great.

Seriously, nothing else is new. I am sorry my life has sort of become non-interesting. haha. I am sure it will just come in spurts. :D Soon, more.

It's been a while...

So, it has been a while since I last wrote, but nothing too exciting has happened. But, I will update you on the latest.

Last Thursday 2 of my room mates and I met some friends to go to a club in Barrio. Even though it was a school night, we were all in the party mood, and decided to go. We left around 10:30, and when we got to the club, nobody was there. We sat around and talked for a while, and after a while, they were playing more dance music, and as more people arrived, more people started to dance. It was a lot of fun.

This weekend has also been fun. On Saturday early evening we left to go to the summer house of a friend of a friend. The summer house was absolutely beautiful. It was in a small town about 1 hour from Monterrey, in the middle of nowhere it seemed. It had a building with a living room and little kitchenette, another building with a bedroom with two queen beds, a coverd grilling area, a pool, basketball court, soccer field..it was amazing. So when we got there, around 7:00 pm, we grilled out, and then as more people started arriving (we were about 15 in total) we had some drinks, and hung out outside, playing basketball, etc. It was a lot of fun. We ended up sleeping three people to a bed, and only got about 1 hour of full sleep, so now I am exhausted. But it was worth it. Today was absolutely beautiful. Probably in the upper 80s again. PERFECT!

No school tomorrow, due to some sort of holiday. As long as I don't have class, I don't really care what it is. :p
